U.S. Ladies Short Track Champion for 2008, 2009 and 2010, Katherine Reutter is on the fast track to the Olympic Winter Games in 2010. During the 2008-09 season, Reutter was a member of the U.S. Short Track World Cup Teams and participated in the 2009 World Short Track Speedskating Championships in Vienna, Austria, and the 2009 World Short Track Team Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands where the ladies team earned an overall bronze medal.

During 2008-09 World Cup competition, Reutter earned three silver medals in the 1500m and has won seven individual world cup medals overall. She was also part of the ladies relay team that won the gold medal in Dresden, Germany: the first time the U.S. ladies have ever won gold in this event. Reutter had three top five finishes in Vienna during the 2009 World Short Track Championships and her individual medal count is up to 11, with 17 total medals.

The 2009-10 World Cup season brought Reutter her first two individual gold medals in the 1000m and 1500m. She is ranked second and third in those distances in World Cup classification. Her dedication to the sport is inspiring as she works hard to meet the goal of winning an Olympic medal. Following her Olympic career, Reutter will attend the University of Illinois.

Reutter traveled three hours every weekend from Champaign to St. Louis to train as a youth and has recently returned to St. Louis to give coaching clinics. In 2005, she won three gold medals at the U.S. Championships at age 17. She burst onto the senior scene as a 19-year-old in 2007, winning her first World Cup medal and sweeping the U.S. Championships in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m and 3000m to run away with the overall title.

She enjoys movies - "Cool Runnings" is her favorite - books and shopping. Her favorite musical artists are Kanye West, Metro Station, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and Kings of Leon. She would like to become a personal trainer, a registered dietician and have a fitness show on TV one day.
